How does compression actually work here?
Each page is re-rendered as an image at a lower resolution and quality, then rebuilt into a PDF. That's why it works best on scanned pages or image-heavy PDFs — text-only PDFs are already compact and may not shrink much further.
Will the text still be selectable afterward?
No — because pages are converted to images, the output PDF is no longer searchable or selectable. If you need to keep selectable text, try a lighter compression level or skip compression.
Is there a file size limit?
No server-side limit. Very large files just take longer since everything runs on your device.
