How to Extract Specific Pages From a PDF (Free, No Upload)

Someone wants "just the signed page", "pages 4 to 9", or "the first page and the annex". Here's how to extract specific pages from a PDF into a new file, whether they're one page, a run of pages, or scattered through the document. Free, no upload.
Extract specific pages in one go
- Open Split PDF and add your PDF. The page count appears at the top.
- Choose Extract pages.
- Type the pages you want:
- a single page: 7
- a range: 4-9
- a mix: 1-3, 7, 10-12
- Click Split PDF. A new PDF with just those pages downloads. Your original file isn't changed.
The pages come out in the order you type them, so 5, 1, 2 puts page 5 first. That's handy for pulling a summary page to the front.
Everything runs in your browser and the PDF isn't uploaded, so it's safe for contracts, statements and medical records.
Extract pages vs. delete pages
There are two ways to end up with "only the pages I need". Pick whichever means less typing:

Finding the right page numbers
The page numbers to type are the position in the PDF file: the first page of the file is page 1. They're not the numbers printed on the pages. A report whose cover and contents pages aren't numbered might show "Page 1" printed on what is actually the PDF's 4th page.
To check, open the PDF in Organize Pages, which labels every thumbnail with its position, or look at the page counter in your PDF viewer rather than the number printed on the page.
Extracting one page from a PDF
To isolate one page, like a signed signature page or a single certificate from a combined file, type just its number: 3. You get a one-page PDF.
If the destination wants an image instead (a JPG for a form, or to paste into a document), convert that page with PDF to JPG instead.
Saving each page or range as a separate file
Extracting gives you one PDF with all the selected pages. If you need separate files instead:
- Every page as its own PDF: in Split PDF, choose Split every page into its own PDF. They download together as a .zip.
- Equal chunks (every 5 pages, for example): choose Split into parts of equal length.
- A few different ranges, each in its own file: run Extract pages once per range.
After extracting
- Pages in the wrong order? Reorder them in Organize Pages, or extract again typing the pages in the order you want.
- Need to send it? If it's too big, Compress PDF shrinks scanned pages.
- Contains information the recipient shouldn't see? Extracting removes the other pages, but anything on the pages you keep is still there. Use Redact PDF to remove account numbers or personal details first.
