Does this preserve the original layout?
This pulls out the text, page by page, as plain paragraphs — it doesn't try to recreate columns, tables, or exact positioning. It's built for getting editable text out fast, not for pixel-perfect layout recovery.
Will it work on a scanned PDF?
Not directly — this reads the text layer that's already in the PDF. Run a scanned PDF through OCR first to give it a text layer, then convert it here.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No — text extraction happens entirely in your browser.
