Handybin (https://www.handybin.net) is a set of PDF and file tools that run entirely in your web browser. This policy explains what that means for your data, what information we do collect, and what rights you have over it.

The short version

The files you work with — PDFs, images, documents — are never uploaded to our servers. Every tool on this site processes your files locally, on your own device, using your browser. We have no way to see, store, or access the content of files you use with these tools, because they never leave your computer or phone.

The rest of this policy covers the more ordinary data collection that comes with running a website: analytics, and (in the future) advertising.

Information we do not collect

• We do not require an account or sign-up to use any tool.
• We do not receive, store, or have access to the files you process using our tools.
• We do not store the results your tools generate.

Information we do collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site in aggregate — for example, which tools are popular, which pages people visit, and roughly where traffic comes from. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited. This data is processed by Google in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

Advertising

We intend to display advertisements through Google AdSense. Once active, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can review or opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, or via industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance. This policy will be updated with more specific detail once advertising is live on the site.

Server logs

Our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information for every request — such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps — for security and operational purposes. This is standard practice for essentially all websites and is not used to identify individual visitors.

Cookies

This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics and, in the future, Google AdSense. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so will not affect your ability to use any of the file tools on this site, since they don’t depend on cookies to function.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have rights over any personal data collected about you, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of that data, and the right to object to its processing. Because we don’t collect personal data directly (no accounts, no file uploads), most of these rights are exercised through the opt-out mechanisms described above, which apply to Google’s processing of analytics and advertising data on our behalf.

International data transfers

Google Analytics and Google AdSense may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Google provides safeguards for these transfers as described in its own privacy policy.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when advertising goes live on the site. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
