Handybin vs. Sejda

Sejda is one of the few free online editors that lets you actually edit PDF text in place, and it doesn't watermark output. The trade-off is its free plan: 3 tasks per hour, a 50MB file cap, and a 200-page limit, all enforced because your file is uploaded to Sejda's servers to be processed (then deleted within the hour). Handybin covers the same everyday jobs with no hourly counter and no file ever leaving your device — at the cost of not offering true in-place text editing.

Why people switch

No hourly counter

Sejda's free plan resets your allowance every hour. Handybin doesn't meter usage at all, because there's no server-side job to ration.

Nothing uploaded, even temporarily

Sejda deletes your file within an hour, but it sits on a server in the meantime. Handybin's processing never leaves your browser tab.

No size or page ceiling

Sejda's free tier caps files at 50MB and 200 pages. Handybin has no server-imposed limit to hit.

Questions people ask

Does Handybin have Sejda's 3-tasks-per-hour limit?

No. There's no task counter, hourly or otherwise — use any tool as many times as you need.

Can I edit PDF text in place with Handybin, like Sejda?

Not currently. True in-place text editing isn't feasible to do client-side without faking it with a cover-and-redraw overlay, so it isn't implemented. If in-place text editing is your main need, Sejda genuinely does this well.

Is Sejda actually free, or will I hit a paywall?

Sejda's core tools are free for light, occasional use within its hourly and size limits. Heavier or repeated use is where its paid plans come in.
