How does the repair actually work?
First, it tries to rebuild the file's internal structure while keeping everything else intact — this fixes most common corruption and preserves selectable text. If that's not possible, it falls back to rendering each page as an image and rebuilding a fresh PDF from that, which trades away text selectability to guarantee something usable comes out.
Will this always work?
No — if a file is too badly damaged (missing critical data, not actually a PDF, etc.), there may be nothing left to recover.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No — repair attempts happen entirely in your browser.
